Panthers LB Luke Kuechly Diagnosed With Third Concussion In Three Years

The Carolina Panthers are going to be without their leader on defense once again.

Linebacker Luke Kuechly suffered a concussion during Thursday’s 28-23 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the team announced:

Kuechly went to the locker room late in the second quarter and did not return. Coach Ron Rivera offered no update on Kuechly after the game.

Kuechly recorded four tackles and one of Carolina’s six QB hits. The Eagles scored all four of their touchdowns when Kuechly left the game.

Unfortunately for Kuechly, he has a history of head injuries. He missed the final six games of the 2016 season after suffering a concussion. Immediately following the hit that forced the concussion, Kuechly was taken off the field on a cart. He was extremely distraught.

The linebacker also missed three games in 2015 with a concussion.

Losing Kuechly is tough for the Panthers defense.
