Diving at the head area of a quarterback who’s sliding is risking an ejection in today’s NFL, and Eric Reid found that out the hard way Thursday night.
The new Panthers safety was ejected from his matchup against the Steelers after he laid his shoulder into the head of a sliding Ben Roethlisberger.

A minor scuffle between the two teams followed.
Despite the dirty hit, the two shared a fist-pound after Reid’s ejection was announced.
Great moment of sportsmanship between Eric Reid and Big Ben. 🙏 pic.twitter.com/2ARcHKovzk
