Peyton Manning may be done with football, but he’s not done awing us with his generosity and attention to detail.
The former Broncos and Colts quarterback lifted the spirits of a grieving family Tuesday, sending a gift to one of his fans on his birthday. The only thing missing? The person he was sending the gift to.
Logan Brown, a Indiana resident and fan who idolized Manning was killed earlier this year after being struck by a drunk driver at the way to young age of 15.
The collision was head on and the drunk driver’s blood alcohol content was recorded four times the legal limit following the crash.
Tuesday would have been Logan’s 16th birthday, to which Manning tried to make it as special as possible for a family who had little to celebrate on that day. A package arrived at the Brown house, addressed to them, from Manning himself. Inside included a handwritten letter along with an autographed photo of Manning with“In memory of Logan Allen Brown” along with his signature.

“It blew me away,” Ricketts told WFIE-TV. “I called Charles [Brown, Logan’s father] when the letter came. I didn’t even open it. I called Charles to come over. I said the Broncos answered me.”
According to SportAddictions.com, the family had taken Logan Brown to an Indianapolis Colts game when he was younger and had planned a trip to see Manning play with the Broncos before the teen’s fatal accident.
Logan’s grandmother, Gayle Ricketts, had written to Manning to share her grandson’s story after he was killed.
“As a grandmother, I felt like I should let Peyton know this young man idolized him and what he meant in his life,” Ricketts told WFIE-TV in Evansville.
Talk about a class act.
