Raiders Could Be Forced To Share Stadium With Rams And Chargers Due To Coronavirus Pandemic

Earlier this month the NFL released it’s schedule for the 2020-21 regular season. The NFL plans to move forward with the season starting on time and every team playing home games in their home stadium.

However with the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, many teams are already putting together contingency plans if they are unable to play in their home stadiums.

Over the weekend, Pro Football Talk discussed how there may be a possibility where the Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams have to play their home games in the Las Vegas Raiders new home, Allegiant Stadium.

“The 49ers and Cardinals could share the Arizona venue with no conflicts at all. The Chargers and Raiders could share the new Las Vegas Stadium with only one potential conflict. Ditto for the Rams and the Cowboys.”

“As it turns out, Las Vegas also could potentially absorb the Rams, too.”

Rams COO Kevin Demoff says the team’s “sole focus” is to play their home games at their new home, SoFi Stadium and is hopeful that can be done in front of fans.

If this scenario plays out where the Rams and Chargers are unable to have sporting events take place in California, the Rams would be opening the Raiders new stadium with their Week 1 games against the Dallas Cowboys. The Chargers would play there the following Sunday before the Raiders get their home opener with a Monday night game against the Saints in Week 2.

There is however a scheduling conflict in Week 4, 10 and 14 and that would be something the league would have to address.
