Ravens Backup QB Ryan Mallett Has Meltdown After Throwing Five Interceptions In Practice

Ryan Mallett was suppose to be the quarterback of the future in Houston a few years ago when the Texans signed the quarterback. It took less than two years for them to realize they made a mistake.

Mallet’s time with the Texans was remembered for a missed flight but it didn’t overshadow his on field play which was very bad.

A few years later, Mallett reminds us exactly what he is:

A backup quarterback at best.

On Friday, Mallett was filling in for an injured Joe Flacco and reminded the Ravens coaches that he is still Ryan Mallett by throwing five, yes five interceptions in practice:

“Ryan Mallett. The backup quarterback looked awful in filing in for Joe Flacco (back) with the first team on Friday. He was intercepted at least five times and was nearly picked off two more times. On his last interception, Mallett threw his white towel in the air. His struggles were noticed by linebacker Terrell Suggs. “Hey Marty [Mornhinweg, offensive coordinator], tell Mallett to throw to the guys wearing the purple jerseys [the offense],” Suggs said.”

If only there was a quarterback who could fill in for Joe Flacco and help the Baltimore Ravens available, who has experience as a reliable starter and hey, even a Super Bowl berth under his belt.
