Redskins’ Jason Hatcher Believes Referees Made Bad Calls Because Of The Team Name

After the Washington Redskins’ blowout loss to the Carolina Panthers, Redskins defensive end Jason Hatcher went off on the referees and accused them of making bad calls because of the Redskins controversial team name.

““I’m frustrated with it. We shouldn’t have to be punished for that. Every game, just calls after calls should’ve been made in our favor but it goes to them. It’s just not right. Everybody needs to get their self together, mentally and physically tougher, so we can go in here and win, it’s going to be hard. You know, we’re fighting against teams and the referees. It is what it is. I don’t know if it’s about the name or what, but at the same time, we play football too. We work our butt off too. Don’t single us out, at the end of the day, it’s the name. Don’t worry about the name. We’re players and we work our butt off too.”

The play Hatcher is referring to is the phantom unnecessary roughness call on Redskins CB Chris Culliver that cost the Redskins a pick-6 and led to the Panthers scoring on that drive en route to their 44-16 victory.
