There has been a “Refs You Suck!” chant in the Superdome at seemingly every game this season following last year’s officiating debacle in the NFC Championship game, but Monday night’s was extra loud.
With fans on edge awaiting a touchdown pass that would put Drew Brees in the record books for most TD passes in NFL history, they got it, only to have a flag simultaneously hit the turf.
With Brees celebrating with teammates who came onto the field, the officials announced the play would be coming back due to offensive pass interference, which is about the most ticky-tack P.I. call you’ll see.
