As if the injury Alex Smith suffered wasn’t bad enough…there is more bad news for the Redskins quarterback coming out of Washington D.C.
Redskins quarterback Alex Smith is dealing with an post-operation infection on his right leg resulting following the surgery to repair the broken tibia and fibula he suffered while being sacked during a game against the Texans in Week 11.
My curiosity about Alex Smith’s silence evoked a tip, which prompted some research, which yielded more info, which feels solid. I’m told Smith indeed still in hospital with post-op infection. Will likely require re-intervention, incl possibly “partial reconstruction.”

With bone having pierced skin, Smith underwent surgery immediately to prevent any infection, but one of the worst case scenarios has occurred.
If the doctors deem the infection is bad enough, they could be forced to perform yet another surgery again and undergo a partial reconstruction of the leg.
Hearing from several different people over last few days that Alex Smith is having devastating complications from his broken leg surgery battling infection. Supposedly he’s had multiple surgeries to try to combat infection. Chances of him playing again in real jeaopardy.
