The New York Giants fired Pat Shurmur on Monday and reports are already emerging about the favorite to replace him.
According to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY:
Matt Rhule, the 44-year-old head coach at Baylor, is the early favorite to replace the now fired Pat Shurmur, according to multiple team and league sources. The Giants owners “like him a lot,” said one league source, and have been enamored of him since his one year as a Giants assistant back in 2012.
Last year, Rhule was close to accepting the Jets head coaching job but decided to stay at Baylor.
The love for Rhule is there for the Giants and it seems like the feeling is mutual:
The Carolina Panthers are also interested in Rhule.
