So much for being committed to Derek Carr.
During his first season back with the Oakland Raiders, head coach Jon Gruden literally traded every good player on the team, sending Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears and WR Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys.
But through the struggling season, Gruden stayed committed to his quarterback.
All that seems to be changing as rumblings out of the NFL Combine seem to indicate that Gruden may have his sights set on replacing Carr.
Peter King went on the “Dan Patrick Show” and revealed he is “very interested” in selecting former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Kyler Murray in the NFL Draft:
“Someone in Indianapolis told me Jon Gruden is the worst poker player in the NFL. He and Mike Mayock can talk all they want about Derek Carr … but I’ll tell you Jon Gruden is very interested in Kyler Murray.” – Peter King on @dpshow

It’s becoming more and more likely that Murray could be a lock for a top 5 pick by someone.
