REPORT: New York Jets Could Look To Trade RB Le’Veon Bell In The Offseason

This past offseason the New York Jets signed running back Le’Veon Bell to a four year, $52.5 million contract with $35 million guaranteed.

But after one season, it seems like the Jets are having some buyers remorse and could be looking to move Bell.

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News:

“The Jets will be amenable to trading Bell again this offseason, according to sources. (They’ll have to absorb part of the money owed to the player to have any realistic chance of moving him).”

The Jets had reportedly shopped the three-time Pro Bowler ahead of the trade deadline, with many teams interested in acquiring Bell, including his former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bell carries a salary cap hits of $15.5, $13.5 and $15 million over the next three seasons.

He is averaging just 82.7 yards per game and 3.2 yards per carry. He hasn’t had a single 100-yard game during the 2019 season.
