It was reported that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Stathan were hoping to lure Patriots star Rob Gronkowski away from football and into acting after his Super Bowl LII loss, but they’ll have to compete with his prospective wrestling career.
According to The Wrestling Observer, WWE is willing to offer a similar style deal to Gronkowski that they offered to Ronda Rousey. Given that would be far less than he would make in football, it’s hard to say, but he’s been hurt a lot in football and while wrestling full-time is very hard on the body as well, a part-time deal isn’t so bad.
It’s pretty obvious that Gronk is a star and doesn’t need to play football anymore for money. I could easily see Gronk doing some part-time work for the WWE while also pursuing his acting career on the side.
