REPORT: McDonald’s Place Franchise Tag On Vince Young, Per Source

vinveDebate among analysts and insiders has become heavy this week on whether America’s most popular fast-food chain, McDonald’s would use their franchise tag on Vince Young.

Young, who has been working on the McDonald’s team for 3 years now, as drive-thru window tenant for one year, and staff trainer for two.

With Young’s $7.25 an hour contract ending before next season starts, the company believes Young may seek a non-minimum wage job elsewhere. Sources say Chipotle has shown interest.

In order to lock up the trainer, Mickey D’s has reportedly placed the franchise tag on Young, per Adam Schefter.

“Designating Vince as our franchise staffer gives us the time to continue working toward a long-term agreement,” McDonald’s Fort Wayne location general manager Bennet Holcome said in a statement to the media. “We’ve had productive talks with Vince’s agent and representation, and we’ll continue those discussions with the goal of making sure Vince remains a McDonald’s employee well into the future.”

The 32-year-old averaged 3 staff trainees, 6,592 fry orders fulfilled, and 2,316 Big Macs served per week, hoping to put up even better numbers in 2016.
