Luckily, the paramedics on staff quickly diagnosed the situation and was able to move Lockett off of the field and into an ambulance, en route to a local hospital, avoiding a wrong move that could have paralyzed Lockett for the rest of his life, or even kill him.

On Wednesday, Lockett quest spoke at the Washington Fire Chiefs Conference in Spokane, WA, telling his story. Little did he know, the men who enabled him to be there telling it were listening in the crowd.

Deputy Chief Gerald Randall and Engineer Paramedic John Robertson flew to the conference and surprised Lockett on stage, leading to an emotion reunion.
