The Carolina Panthers’ Explanation For Not Drafting Isaiah Simmons Makes No Sense

The Carolina Panthers bypassed the opportunity to draft Clemson LB/S Isiah Simmons with their first round pick, instead opted to go for Auburn DT Derrick Brown.

The decision is a head-scratcher as Simmons is widely regarded as the better prospect and fills a big need for the Panthers after star linebacker Luke Kuechly retired this offseason.

Nonetheless, the team opted to go with Brown but stood out was their odd explanation of why they decided to go in the direction they did:
