The Chicago Bears’ promising season ended Sunday night courtesy of Cody Parkey and the left upright at Soldier Field.
Though the ball was tipped and there’s no way of knowing if it affected the kick enough to force it left, Parkey has had his struggles with hitting the uprights this season.
The Bears kicker set an NFL record for hitting them more than any kicker for a season in NFL history, even hitting them four times resulting in four misses on Nov. 11 against the Lions.

Turns out, his practice of aiming at poles may have been his downfall, as fans dug up this video of Parkey working on hitting uprights on the kicker’s Instagram.
