U.S. Surgeon General: “If You Want Football This Year, Wear A Mask”

There was no question there would be a second wave of the Coronavirus once the United States opened businesses back up, but the “second” wave is now nearly as bad as the first.

As cases soar across the country, U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams is begging people to simply wear a mask when they venture out into public areas, which has somehow transformed from a simple measure to stopping a global pandemic into a political statement.

“If you want the return of college football this year, wear a face covering, Adams said in a public statement on Tuesday.

“If you want a chance at prom next spring, wear a face covering… If you want to see North Carolina beat Duke in person this year, wear a face covering.”

“Please, please, please, wear a face covering when you go out in public. It is not an inconvenience. It is not a suppression of your freedom,” Adams added. “This mask, this face covering actually is an instrument of freedom for Americans, if we all use it.”

Perhaps the threat of losing football season could save thousands of lives across the country, truly a sad reality.

Though the season is aimed to kick off as scheduled, handfuls of college football players across numerous schools have come down with the virus putting that at risk.
