33 years ago to the day Joe Theismann suffered one of the most horrific leg injuries in NFL history, and on Sunday Alex Smith was carted off with one almost as bad.
The first year Washington QB had his ankle snapped in half when his leg got rolled over by J.J. Watt of the Texans during a sack.
