Alex Smith Carted Off With Gruesome Injury After Leg Snaps In Half

33 years ago to the day Joe Theismann suffered one of the most horrific leg injuries in NFL history, and on Sunday Alex Smith was carted off with one almost as bad.

The first year Washington QB had his ankle snapped in half when his leg got rolled over by J.J. Watt of the Texans during a sack.

Smith was carted off to the locker room.

Head coach Jay Gruden announced that his quarterback will miss the rest of the season with a broken fibula and tibia.
