Arian Foster was one of four Miami Dolphins players including Michael Thomas, Jelani Jenkins and Kenny Stills who took a knee Sunday afternoon during the playing of the National Anthem ahead of their game versus the Seahawks.
The protest is looked down upon by most to begin with, yet was even more criticized considering today was the 15th anniversary of September 11th.
He spoke on his reasoning postgame:
“If kneeling for your flag is disrespectful then kneeling for your God is disrespectful,” Arian Foster said. pic.twitter.com/hpfzxw4meW

It may be important to note Foster is a well publicized and out-spoken atheist.
Miami Dolphins owner Steve Ross spoke with players before their protest, and supports their decision.
