Bears Release Renderings Of New $4 Billion Lakefront Stadium Proposal

It’s exciting time for Chicago Bears fans as the team is about to draft Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and the team is also in-line to build a new stadium.

On Wednesday, the organization took a big step forward in their desires to build a new stadium by releasing renderings for their new $4 billion lake front stadium that will be adjacent from the team’s current home stadium, Solider Field.

According to ESPN’s Courtney Cronin, the Bears have committed $2 billion to the project and are request a loan of $300 million form the National Football League and a bond of $900 billion from the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority, which taxes area hotels.

Bears president Kevin Warren confirmed in Wednesday’s release that the stadium would have a fixed roof instead of a retractable roof, due to the higher cost. Warren added that the proposed stadium could seat as many as 77,000 people for a Final Four, according to Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times.

The stadium will be created by the same company that designed the Las Vegas Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium, according to 670 The Score’s Chris Emma.

Manica Architecure, the Kansas City-based firm behind the Las Vegas stadium, has also built arenas for the Golden State Warriors and Inter Miami CF.

Warren adds that the city has a goal of hosting a Super Bowl which makes sense considering Chicago is one of the biggest sports media markets int he world.

This stadium has a chance to take the city of Chicago to the next level.
