Cris Carter Says Patriots Could Replace Tom Brady With Colin Kaepernick After He Retires

Despite Tom Brady’s age, his ability to continue to keep winning Super Bowls pushes the thought of his eventual replacement to the backs of any New Englander’s mind.

Fox Sports’ First Things First decided to tackle the topic and Cris Carter proposed a name and his thoughts on why it could happen.

“The Patriots could replace Tom Brady with Colin Kaepernick” Carter said. Carter backed up with hypothesis by saying he knows Patriots owner Robert Kraft is “very, very fond” of the QB who’s been banished from the NFL after protesting racial injustice and police brutality during the National Anthem prior to games.

Carter also noted that the Pats prefer to bring players in via trade of free agency after the team has had a sample size of them playing in the NFL.

Kaepernick’s been out of the league since 2016 and just this was reported to have been offered a job in the Alliance of American Football (AAF), only for contract talks to fall through due to Kaepernick’s high demands.

People close to the quarterback, including former 49ers coach Chip Kelly say he can still play.
