Opposite of the Raiders in the AFC, the Giants are the laughing stock of the NFC, and rightfully so. Sitting at 1-5, New York is trying to avoid going 1-6 in another primetime game Monday night in Atlanta.
A catalyst for much of the chaos in the locker room, Odell Beckham has been critical of his coaching staff and teammates, specially his quarterback Eli Manning.
Most notably, the superstar WR appeared in an ESPN interview with Josina Anderson along side rapper Lil’ Wayne, where he questioned the heart of his teammates and inferred his quarterback and the inability for him to throw it downfield was the reason for the Giants’ offensive struggles.
In a post game press conference following a loss the day after the interview was released, head coach Pat Schumur mentioned that he had a “talk” with Beckham about the interview, reportedly livid at his WR. Now the owner is getting involved.
John Mara addressed reporters on Tuesday, mentioned that he would like for his $90 million WR to essentially shut up and just play.
John Mara on Odell Beckham: “I think he needs to do a little more playing and a little less talking.”

Mara said he did not talk to Beckham after his ESPN interview, saying he thinks enough people talk to him. Said he wishes he would make his headlines on the field instead of off.

Mara went on to defend QB Eli Manning, saying he still believes in him, saying “a lot of guys need to play better when you’re 1-5.”
