Trumps Tells Kneeling NFL Players He’ll Help Pardon Anyone They Know Unfairly Treated By Justice System

Donald Trump had more to say about kneeling NFL players Friday, but it wasn’t what you might expect due to the recent climate and relations between the two.

The President noted that he plans to meet with NFL players protesting the National Anthem along with other athletes so they have the chance to recommend people they think should be pardoned due to being treated unfairly by the justice system, saying, “I’m going to ask them to recommend to me people who were unfairly treated.”

The revelation comes after Trump pardoned Alice Johnson, in jail for a life sentence for a first time drug offense. The President also initiated the potential pardon of Muhammad Ali, who was told by his family that it was not needed.

Trump spoke on the matter outside the White House Tuesday.
