Organizational stability is very important in the NFL. Take the Pittsburgh Steelers; a team with only three head coaches in the last 45 years, and oh by the way, they lead the NFL with six super bowls versus a team like the Cleveland Browns, who have had three head coaches in a year.  The folks over at ‘The Sports Geeks’ put together this awesome Infographic showing the last three head coaches for each NFL franchises. Judging by this Infographic, you will see having stability in the front office is key to success.

    the casuality is kinda the other way around.

    if your team sucks, the HC is gonna get fired, and you won’t have any long-time stability.

      • again, faulty logic.
        yes, there have been times when coaches have been fired too soon, by stupid owners, but keeping your HC when things aren’t working doesn’t necessarily mean it’s gonna get better.

        when bad teams DO keep their coach, sometimes they just remain bad, so statistically, the two possible outcomes kinda cancel eachother out.

        • Which of the teams at the top of the chart have not been competitive within the last decade? The only outlier is probably the Titans. Hell, even the Jets went to a couple of AFC Championship games. I’m sorry you can’t grasp the correlation, but you can feel free to misuse the term “logic” as much as you’d like.
