Ray Lewis Rips The ‘Black Lives Matter’ Movement A New One, To The Brink Of Tears

Sports stars in our country have a platform unlike any other. With hundreds of millions tuning in to watch their talents over the course of their career and most even sticking around the hear them speak after their on-the-field duties, they have a volume of voice that many aren’t as fortunate to have. Some choose to remain subdued with their thoughts of societal issues and others chose to use their situation. Ray Lewis is one of them.

The passionate former Baltimore Ravens linebacker and ESPN analyst took to social media to post his thoughts on the state of racial divide, focusing on the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement, to which Lewis took heated exception in context to what he feels is the real problem.

“I’m trying to figure out in my mind why no one is paying attention to black men killing black men. Why do we always find ourselves as the victims, and now we have the separation once again that we’re being victimized because of one bad white cop, two bad white cops, three bad white cops, killing a young black brother. But every day we have black-on-black crime, killing each other. “I know black lives matter, because I’m a black man, but man, stop killing each other. Man, we got to put these guns down in Chicago. Baltimore, Miami, man it ain’t that hard. You got to be OK with earning a living. It ain’t supposed to be easy,” Lewis said. “If we don’t change what we’re doing not only will our kids not have a future, but we might find ourselves extinct.”

If he was anywhere near as passionate about “Lives Matter” as he’s trying to fool people into thinking he is then he would not have waited until times like this to take his meatheaded, woefully ignorant ass to a social media platform to spread this message. He, and the other people like him who only seek to decry the social movement of BLM with crap like this are sickeningly simple minded…

    • Don’t all lives matter though? I mean trust me I understand where you’re coming from, but what about the Hispanic lives that Trump wants to deport, or a national registry that Trump wants to create for Muslims…what about the white man who makes a wrong turn in a neighborhood in Chicago because he was lost and ends up murdered? What about the gay couple that gets beaten because they were holding hands in public. Lives matter. your life, my life, the ones we love…If we want to stop the hate, stop the brutality, the murders, then we ALL have to be in this together. The BLM movement should be ALM (All Lives Matter) and you should have people from all races and ethnicities marching together as one. United we stand, but divided we will fall.

      I support you my friend, but I support the lives of all. And I think that’s what Ray Lewis is trying to say here.

    • I think you may just be talking about yourself in your comments. Who cares that he is making a statement now? At least he is making a statement and he has a point. He is simply pointing the finger back on his own people to wake up to the violence being committed against each other. These are true statistics and yet no one is crying out for something to be done to save those black lives. That is where it begins. In the communities. There are far more black lives being lost at the hands of their own people that at the hands of any other people. These are facts, plain and simple. He is calling for BLM to be consistent across the board for all black lives.
