The NFL Won’t Allow The Cowboys To Wear “Arm In Arm” Decal On Helmets

Cowboys

The NFL continues to not surprise me as they hit yet another low.

The Dallas Cowboys have been denied permission to place the “Arm in Arm” logo in support of the Dallas-area police officers on their helmet during preseason or regular-season games in 2016.

According to Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys have been wearing the decal on their helmets throughout training camp in remembrance of the police officers who were killed in a sniper attack in July.

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones released this statement regarding the league’s rejection of the team’s request, per Dallas Morning News:

Everyone has to be uniform with the league and 31 others teams. We respect their decision. There are so many wonderful, wonderful causes, the league has to be careful.

If you allow one, then what do you do about every team that has a great reason to have something on their helmets? There are tons of things out there that need to be recognized. Once you open that Pandora’s box, how do you ever stop?

The Cowboys open up the preseason on Saturday vs. Los Angeles RamsĀ in Los AngelesĀ and will open the regular season September 11th vs the New York Giants at home.
