Photo Of A Young DeShaun Watson Goes Viral For The Most Awesome Reason

Last night, Clemson beat Alabama to capture the National Title after losing to the same Crimson Tide on the same stage just a year ago.

But the final play which gave the Tigers the crown maybe wasn’t even the coolest moment of the night. A photo began making the rounds following the game of an 11-year old DeShaun Watson standing in front of his Gainesville, Georgia home, one funded by former NFL player Warrick Dunn.

Warwick Dunn has been on a mission in his post-football career, helping provide homes to over 152 families through the charity he founded. Back on November 21st of 2006, Dunn presented a furnished, four-bedroom home to Watson, his mother and three siblings.

Even cooler, the kid Dunn provided a house for over a decade ago grew up to win a National Championship in the very stadium Dunn played out his career in.

“I felt grown having my own room,” Watson told Newberry days before amassing 420 passing yards in a 35-31 victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide to take the College Football Playoff National Championship. “Just having my own bed, not really being squished, not really worrying about someone sneaking up on me, it was a great moment, a special moment.”

“We just try to help put people in safer environments and give kids an opportunity,” Dunn said, per Newberry. “You never know what impact you will have. You hope it’s a positive impact.”
