Patriots Interested In Trading For Richard Sherman

One of Bill Belichick and the Patriots’ top priorities this offseason has been retaining budding cornerback Malcolm Butler. Apparently, the have quite the backup plan if they end up losing him.

The Patriots are reportedly interested in trading for Seattle Seahawks star corner Richard Sherman, and Sherman is apparently open to playing in New England.

Though some suspected the trade rumors, made public by the Seahawks, was a ploy to perhaps get the animated Sherman to fall in line, team general manager John Schneider revealed Wednesday that the 29-year-old, four-time Pro Bowler is in fact on the trade block and the discussion to part ways with him is real.

The Sherman talk comes just says after the Patriots met and worked out with free-agent running back Adrian Peterson.
