More than 700 people seeking a job opportunity showed up at a Raiders Stadium board meeting in Las Vegas Thursday only to be find out the flyer they received promoting a job opportunity was all a hoax.
According to the Associated Press, “tensions flared” when job seekers showed up to a meeting of the Las Vegas Stadium Authority board under the impression they would be able to apply for jobs at the Raiders’ future home in Sin City.
“If folks were brought to the meeting under a false pretense, I think that’s too bad, that obviously shouldn’t happen,” board chairman Steve Hill said.

According to the AP, the flyer “specifically targeted black men and women.”
Raiders reps at the meeting said they have every intention of meeting a “state-mandated 15 percent contracting of small businesses” law.
Hiring plans are expected to be a point of discussion at the next board meeting in August.
The Raiders are aiming to complete construction of their new stadium by June of 2020.
