The Madden curse may be in full effect.
Just months after Tom Brady has the second best season of his career leading to a Super Bowl win landing him on the cover of Madden 18, the Patriots quarterback find himself with the worst completion percentage in the NFL.
While yes, it’s a one game sample size, names like Scott Tolzien and Tom Savage completing a higher percentage of their passes than arguably the greatest player of all-time even for one week is something to note.
Tolzien and Savage, who both got benched less than a game into the season, join 31 other quarterbacks that threw at least one pass in the NFL during Week one that topped Brady’s 44.4% percent.
According to ProFootballTalk, the last time Brady completed less than 45 percent of his passes was January 1, 2006, a meaningless Week 17 game when he went 3-for-8 before leaving the game before halftime.
