OJ Simpson Released From Prison After Serving 9 Years

Former football legend OJ Simpson quietly walked out of a Lovelock Correctional Center at the crack of Sunday morning after serving 9 years for a robbery and kidnapping charge in 2007.

The 70-year-old was infamously acquitted for double murder in 1995, but ended up being found guilty for armed robbery years after he broke into a friend’s hotel room with acquaintances with weapons in attempt to retrieve signed memorabilia, ironically his own. He was sentenced to 9 to 33 years, but was granted parole in July.

Post-prison plans for Simpson are unknown, but he is expected to move to Florida and write a book. Simpson’s four children, two of who live in the state, have noted their father is “no doubt” moving there.

“I can tell from his voice on the phone … that he’s looking forward to freedom and hugging his family on the outside,” Malcolm LaVergne, Simpson’s lawyer, told the Times in an interview conducted before the release.
