When Dez Bryant and the Dallas Cowboys take the field on Sunday Night in Oakland, they’ll be greeted by a familiar face that cost them a potential berth in a Super Bowl with one questionable call a few years ago in chilly Green Bay.
For the first time in almost three years, referee Gene Steratore will be officiating a Dallas Cowboys game, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
Today is first time that referee Gene Steratore will work a Cowboys’ game since he made the call on the Dez Bryant catch/non catch in Dallas’ 2014 playoff loss to the Packers.

Of course, everyone remembers Gene’s infamous no-catch call against Dez Bryant in the divisional round of the 2014 playoffs against the Green Bay Packers.
The ruling essentially brought the catch or no-catch rule to the forefront of the NFL and promoted many to try and figure out what exactly is a catch and what isn’t.
No one still hasn’t figured it out.
Here’s the infamous moment:
Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders is very important for the Cowboys as they would likely need to win out to have any chance at a playoff berth so Dez might want to go out of his way to make sure he catches the ball.
