Browns LT Joe Thomas Announces His Retirement After 11 Seasons

Joe Thomas may have just been the best player in the NFL you’ve never heard of for much of the past decade.

The Cleveland Browns left tackle was an iron man over 11 seasons, playing the most consecutive snaps by any NFL player in history (10,363), only coming to an end in 2017 when he suffered a triceps injury.

Thomas was drafted by Cleveland 3rd overall in the 2007 NFL Draft, playing himself into a Pro Bowl as a rookie and for each of his first 10 seasons despite blocking for countless inept quarterbacks. He was named a First Team All-Pro seven times.
