Popularized by but not invented by the Miami Hurricanes, the turnover prop has been the biggest hit in college football.
The prop, which is intended to make players try harder to do the job they’re already suppose to, has evolved from a special set of shoulder pads, to a iced-out chain, to now a designer backpack, courtesy of FSU.
With ever iteration the novelty wears off, but Oregon State may have just revived it.
The Beavers, introduced the turnover chainsaw Saturday, playing off the fact that beavers in real life chop down trees.

Perhaps a chain saw will be the push that the Beavers need to get over the hump and get into the College Football Playoff.
