Earl Thomas held out of training camp due to the Seahawks reluctancy to give their star safety a long-term contract.
Reluctant, Thomas did end up reporting for the regular season in hopes of avoiding injury before he could get the contract he wanted elsewhere.
Just four weeks in, and Thomas has fractured his leg.
The injury came on this play while in coverage of Cardinals WR Chad Williams during Sunday’s game against Arizona. Thomas’ left leg collided with the body of Williams while he lay in the end zone, causing a tibial fracture.

While being carted off the field, Thomas gave his own sideline the middle finger, likely in vengeance of the contract dispute.
Is it me or did Earl Thomas flip someone off on the Seahawks sideline…👀 pic.twitter.com/e0iMVtAfr1
