The Chiefs and Broncos Monday Night Football matchup came down to the final play of regulation, with every single play down the stretch mattered.
One of the biggest of those plays came on a 3rd and 7 for Kansas City where QB Patrick Mahomes riffled a pass downfield 35 yards downfield for a huge gain and a first down that would set up a Kareem Hunt score. Only problem? It should have never happened.
You can clearly see both the game clocks at zero and the back judge looking at the clock while it had struck 0 before the ball was snapped, all without a whistle for delay of game being blown.
#Broncos LB Brandon Marshall said a ref implied the back judge missed the delay of game bc he was also looking at the QB.
Well, here he is obviously paying attention to the play clock. Just didnt stop the play to flag it. I timed the delay at a few hundredths over half a second. pic.twitter.com/1BUxDqkNhU— Thad Brown (@thadbrown7) October 2, 2018
Broncos LB Brandon Marshall vented his frustration with the no call post game, confirming the officials did indeed told him they missed the call.
