Baylor seemed to be a program that would fade into irrelevancy following sexual assault scandals involving head coach Art Briles and NCAA sanctions looming.
That only lasted about a year after the program was resurrected by Matt Rhule, who went from a 1-11 record in his first year as the Bears head coach to an 11-1 record and a trip to the Big 12 Championship game.
That coaching has now landed his as head coach of the Carolina Panthers, who fired former head coach Ron Rivera after the team’s Week 17 game.

The deal is for a whopping seven years worth $60 million which can reach $70 million with incentives.
Rhule was also a candidate for the New York Giants coaching vacancy.
