The running joke around the NFL season possibly being required to be played without fans to help contain the spread of Coronavirus has been centered around the Chargers not having fans anyway.
Now even former Chargers players are getting in on the action.
Ex-Chargers running back and current Broncos ball carrier Melvin Gordon appeared on a radio interview and was asked about the very real possibility of playing in front of 60,000+ empty seats, stating “We didn’t have fans anyway” alluding to his time in LA with his former team.
I asked former Chargers and current @Broncos RB @Melvingordon25 about the possibility of playing in “fanless stadiums” and his response was PRICELESS! #NFL pic.twitter.com/ErGo5tr2Oc
