When Jim Harbaugh became the head coach of Michigan, many people expected he would rebuild the Wolverines into the powerhouse they once were.
But after six years, Michigan remains a mediocre program and what makes matters worse is Harbaugh has yet to help his alma mater beat rival Ohio State. All this has people believing this will be Harbaugh’s final year at Michigan and the former 49ers head coach is now eyeing a return to the NFL.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk:
At Michigan, Harbaugh has lasted six years. There’s a growing belief that he won’t be back for a seventh season, perhaps choosing to walk away before they make him run. Per multiple sources, Harbaugh is believed to be eyeing a return to the NFL, as a head coach.
Prior to becoming the head coach of Michigan, Harbaugh was the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers from 2012 to 2015, leading the 49ers to the Super Bowl and multiple NFC Championship Game appearances.
