Patrick Mahomes Ran 497 Yards During Super Bowl LV Trying To Escape Bucs Pass Rushers

Tom Brady may have won the MVP of Super Bowl LV Sunday night, but it was the Buccaneers defense line which was the story of the game.

It seemed as if every play, Patrick Mahomes found himself running for his life, having to make a spectacularly athletic maneuver and throw just to get a prayer of a pass down field.

ESPN’s NextGen Stats calculated the amount of yardage Mahomes had to travel in attempt to allude Tampa Bay’s pass rush, and it’s astounding.

The yardage is the most by any quarterback in a game this season.

And as if that stat wasn’t jarring enough, Brady was pressured on a mere 9.5% of drop backs. Mahomes was pressured on 57%.
