When the San Francisco 49ers selected Trey Lance with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the writing was on the wall with the team’s starter Jimmy Garoppolo.
It’s now not a matter of it, but a matter of when Trey Lance takes over as the 49ers starting quarterback and one NFL Insider thinks that day is coming and Jimmy G could be on the move.
NFL Insider John Middlekauff believes there are two destinations for Jimmy G to head to moving forward – The Washington Football Team or New York Giants:
Washington has had a carousel of quarterbacks for years that needs addressing. The New York Giants still have hope in Daniel Jones, but he remains a turnover machine who only seems to be good against Washington and nobody else in the league.
Garoppolo threw for 314 yards and a touchdown in Week 1.
