Bills fans donating to charities may be the best tradition in all of sports.
It started three years ago when Andy Dalton, then quarterback of the Bengals beat the Ravens, helping Buffalos secure a playoff spot for the first time in 17 years. To celebrate Dalton, Bills Mafia began donating a few bucks to the QB’s charity. After the week was over, Bills fans pouring in nearly half a million dollars to the Andy Dalton Foundation, an organization devoted to aiding the families of seriously ill and disabled children.
The trend caught on and since then, Bills fans have donated millions to various charities in the name of Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson and even a food bank near Tre’Davious White’s childhood home following a season-ending injury.
The latest example of the awesomeness? The team dropped another Sunday against the Bucs, and many would argue the referees had an assist in Tampa Bay’s win.
After a slew of questionable calls and no calls that went against their favor, Bills fans decided to hilarious fork on their money to a Buffalo center for the Visually Impaired, in the name of the referees from the game.
And yes, thousands has already been donated.
Well played once again Bills Mafia, well played.
