If Robert Saleh is not going to fall into the same hole that the majority of former Jets head coaches have fallen into, he has to stop caring about what people say about his team.
The New York Jets head coach told reporters Monday he knows his team is going to breakthrough and turn their fortunes around, despite the team losing its season opener, 24-9, to the Baltimore Ravens.
“We’re all taking receipts on all the people who continually mock and say that we’re not going to do anything,” he said. “I’m taking receipts and I’m going to be more than happy to share them with all of you when all is said and done.”
The New York Jets haven’t made the playoffs since 2010. During that span, they’ve had four different head coaches – Rex Ryan (2009-14), Todd Bowles (2015-18), Adam Gase (2019-20) and Robert Saleh (2021-present).
Saleh is 4-14 as the New York Jets head coach.
