BREAKING: NFL & NFLPA Agree On New Concussion Protocol That Will Go Into Effect Immediately

Following the handling of the Tua Tagovailoa concussion, the National Football League and it’s Players Association came together and agreed to revise their concussion protocol process.

After two weeks, the NFL & NFLPA have agreed on a revised protocol process that will go into affect starting Sunday.

The change in the protocol process centers around players that are show signs of abnormal balance/stability, motor coordination or dysfunctional speech caused by a neurological issue otherwise known as ataxia. Any player showing any of these symptoms will be prohibited the game, and will receive the follow-up care required under the concussion protocol.

If these rules were intact, Tagovailoa would have been ruled out of the remainder of the game against the Buffalo Bills.
