It’s Desmond Ridder time in Atlanta.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Falcons will bench starting quarterback Marcus Mariota and start rookie second round pick Desmond Ridder for the remainder of the season as the team turns the page to 2023 and look to see whether Ridder can be the team’s starting quarterback next season:
The timing for this quarterback switch is perfect considering the Atlanta Falcons are on their Bye Week. The extra week gives the Cincinnati product enough time to get caught up before his first start on Dec. 18 against the New Orleans Saints.
