Are the Jets going all-in on Aaron Rodgers?
The man heading the league’s worst ranked offense last season has been hired as the offensive coordinator of the Jets in Nathanial Hackett.
The connection between Hackett and Aaron Rodgers should be tantalizing for Jets fans, as it seems like a move to get in possession to trade for the future Hall of Fame QB. Hackett’s hiring in Denver could have been attributed to their hopes of landing Rodgers last offseason, which of course did not work out.
Hackett was one of only five coaches in NFL history to be fired before their first season could conclude. The Jets are banking that Hackett was just not fit to be a head coach but will go back to excelling in the offensive coordinator role, which he did in Jacksonville before his tenure with the Broncos.
The Jets reportedly interviewed more than 15 other candidates.
