The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reportedly looking at the Patriots blueprint in replacing Tom Brady this offseason.
According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Bucs plan to “retool while still competing,” with Jimmy Garoppolo one of the options to replace Tom Brady.
This was obviously the plan for the New England Patriots when the selected Jimmy G in the 2014 NFL Draft before trading him to the San Francisco 49ers a few years later:
The Buccaneers have a lot of work to do with the salary cap before the start of free agency. They are currently $55.7 million over the cap for next season. The New Orleans Saints at $57.4 million over are the only team in worse cap shape than Tampa.
