Sean Payton Reveals Microchip In Football Will Help Officials Make Critical Calls During Games

It’s the year 2023 and a $20 billion industry continues to use eyeballs, note cards and orange sticks to make critical decisions during football games.

But that could be changing soon.

Earlier in the week, Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton revealed that the National Football League has installed microchips in footballs that will help them judge first downs, touchdowns and among other things — when a ball goes out of bounds during plays.

This will go a long way in helping the league not miss critical calls in critical moments. It’ll also take a lot of pressure out of the hands out of the officials, which if you’ve watched football this season.. is a pretty good thing!
