The first overall pick in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft now belongs to the Carolina Panthers.
After deciding that the future in Chicago was to stick with Justin Fields who showed glimpses of stardom last season, the Bears has a decision to make with the rights to the No. 1 overall draft pick, and as many predicted, they have traded the pick for a wealth of compensation.
The Panthers, who struck out on the Derek Carr sweepstakes and publicly indicated that they were out on Lamar Jackson last week, have traded DJ Moore, the 9th and 61st overall pick, as well as a future 1st and second to the windy city for that first overall pick, which was most likely be either Bryce Young or C.J. Stroud.
The Panthers move from ninth overall to first, moving ahead of a slew of notable teams in need of a QB like the Texans, Colts, Raiders and Falcons.
