BREAKING: Travis Kelce Suffers Knee Injury In Practice, Status ‘Uncertain’ For Season Opener vs Lions

This is the absolute last thing the Kansas City Chiefs needed.

As the reigning-Super Bowl champions prepare for their season-opener against the Detroit Lions, the team suffered a scare at practice on Tuesday when All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce went down with a knee injury.

Andy Reid told reporters that Kelce ‘hyperextended’ his knee and the injury is severe enough to cast doubt in whether or not Kelce will be able to suit for Thursday’s game:

Despite being a tight end, Kelce is Mahomes’ No. 1 target. Without him, the Chiefs will be left with Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore, Marquez Valdez-Scantling, Noah Gray and Jerick McKinnon to pick up the slack.
